Tasha when she first came to us!

Tasha
4 Month Old Female Rough Coat

This gorgeous and playful puppy was turned in by her owner because he could not care for a dog at the same time as caring for his 90 year old mother. How he did not realize this two months ago when he got her, I don't know.

But what I do know is that this cute little ball of fur was immediately adopted by a family with children who were in the midst of suffering from grief because they had to put their Saint to sleep. Tasha, now renamed Marivel, promises to give her new family many years of joy and laughter. She might even chew on a shoe or two.....after all, she is a puppy. :)

If you have already filled in an application and are interested in Tasha, CALL us for an appointment.

If you have not filled in an application please do so, your name will be added to our waiting list. Check our website daily, when you see a dog that interests you, please CALL for an appointment.

UPDATE: 4/2002 - Tasha in her new home!

Marty(as she is affectionately known) is blending nicely, picking up Scooby's love of car rides and frequest walks. She is so hilarious in that when I take her out at night, she will tentatively walk out the fornt door, looking around. If anything distracts her, like her shadow or mine, the trip is wasted and you might as well go back inside.

She also loves to sleep behind the couch. Boy does she snore. Talk about sawing logs, I think she is a full fledged lumberjack. She also has taken residence on the couch next to me or underneath the foot stool.

So far the funniest thing about her, besides the fact that she is a cute loveable BIG chicken....is the fact that when she plays she hops up and down like a rabbit and I'm talking hops. As in on all fours. She has quite a vertical jump also.

Thanks again for everything...We had really decided to go without a dog for awhile, but I have to say, that little bundle of fur has really helped Jen and I get on with it. And who could not love a baby as sweet as Marty.

I have to say thanks again, because I don't think I can say it enough.
MUAH....you guys are the greatest!!!!!

UPDATE: 6/2002 - Tasha in her new home!

First of all, another HUGE Thank You, for our incredible girl!!!!

She is due to graduate from Puppy Preschool this Saturday, at
the top of her class, of course :) She is perfecting sitting, lying
down, staying, and walking nicely on a leash & comes bounding
at the sound of her name--she's the best at that command!!! :)

We plan to continue working with her in hopes that after her 1st
birthday in November, she will become a therapy dog. My instructor
belongs to one of the three national therapy dog programs, and she
has passed my name along to the local tester and head of the program.
After speaking with her, I have exercises to work on with her and prepare
her for trips to convalescent homes, hospital pediatric wards, and local
schools. I am sooo excited about this!

Marty has brought so much love and joy to our little family--I really want to
pass it on to others :) So that is how our "little" Marty (now about 75lbs) is doing :)

PS: She went to school with the girls for animal day yesterday and did
so well! :) TONS of kids petted her & she didn't even try to eat any of the
cats, bunnies, or rats, or chickens that were the other kid's pets!
