These are recent pictures of Katie in her new home with her buddies.

Below are pictures of Katie several days after surgery.

Brandy - Renamed Katie
Adopted August 29, 2001
8 - 10 Month Old Female Rough Coat

Brandy came to us on her last day at the Animal Shelter. She had severe ear infections and bite wounds on her ears. She also had a VERY infected oozing eye (we weren't even sure there was an eye there), she was severely matted and she was in heat.

We took Brandy in, and one of our loving foster homes cared for her, giving her complete love and attention despite her (let's face it) unbecoming odor and appearance. Her name was also changed at that point to Molly. Foster mom raved about how beautiful she was and how sweet she was despite her tragedies.

We got her to the vet, de-wormed her (oh yeah she was full of tape worms and very skinny) and located a vet to perform her surgery at an affordable rate. At her appointment the poor girl underwent Eye surgery (there was an eye and it had to be removed), she was groomed and clipped of all the matted fur, she was spayed and her ears were treated. We did not get pictures of her after surgery as she would not have appreciated them, she was not having her best day.

A potential adopter called that day looking for a young female, we told her about Molly. She was unsure if this was the right dog for their family, but wanted to donate for her surgery and talk with her family about her. After a few days of recovery, the "donator" made an appointment to see Molly, and arrived with gifts for the Foster Mom and gifts for Molly!
How Sweet! She and her entire family fell madly in love with Molly and decided to adopt her and continue her follow-up care with their vet. New mom called me upon arriving home and told me what a "hit" Molly (now renamed Katie) was with the entire neighborhood. Seems that many neighboring children were awaiting her arrival, she loved them all, and her new furry friends too. This really is a true rescue story! More updates to come.
