Blazer
1
1/2 Year Old Female Rough Coat
Blazer is a beautiful, sweet dog. Her owner turned her in because
his
landlord said he could no longer keep her.
She seems to like other dogs and
kids but we believe a home without younger kids would be better
because
Blazer gets excited and could knock over smaller children.
Blazer is going to go fast .....she is a beautiful dog, so call
for an appoinment quick!

UPDATE:
4/2002 - Blazer has been adopted by her new forever family!
|
Just wanted you to know everything is going as well as possible
with
Blazer. We've renamed her Else, as in St. Elsewhere, cause she's
got the
disposition of an Angel.
She was amazing on the long ride home, very patient and obedient.
She
was very well behaved on her first round of visits with our animals
and
showed a sincere willingness to please. We spent a lot of time
with her
last night and our dogs took a real liking to her. Big Sam was
very
cordial and never growled once. They are friends already.
Today was cat indoctrination day. She is very curious about them,
but
respectful. She chased a couple, sort of by mistake, but always
stopped
when called. I had to scold her once, and she ran to me, rolled
over on
her back and begged forgiveness. I don't ever remember being around
a
young dog who tried so hard to please. I'm very impressed.
Tonight, Tami took our gang (and two cats) on a walk down our
quarter-mile driveway amidst a herd of cows (our community has
free-range cattle in the spring). Else was very obedient, though
our
dogs are not that way and usually run off barking. Else joined
one
encounter and when called back by Tami, there was a noticeable
drool
smudge on the side of one of the cows. Apparently an errant slurp
as she
was turning back from meeting the cow.
She has paid no mind to the horses or chickens, and our cats
are already
at ease around her. I think the animals have a sense if they are
safe or
not in the company of new animals. Since our cats were relaxed,
so is she.
To sum, we are thrilled with her. And she is extremely happy
here. You
can see it in her expression. She much enjoys being with the dogs,
and
is very responsive to our voice commands and verbal encouragement.
Thank you for giving us this opportunity, despite your initial
inclination otherwise. Sometimes things are just meant to be...
so far
this appears as one of those occasions.
Webmaster's
note: We just want to thank Justice, Tami, and Bob for being such
a great family and accepting Blazer as one of the kids. We know
she'll be very happy with you. Please keep in touch. Our readers
love hearing about our dogs' success stories, and I know this
is one. God Bless.
