Ben
1
1/2 to 2 Year Old Male Smooth Coat
"Gentle Ben"
What a complete doll! Ben is a sweet, sweet boy who came to us
from
Bakersfield. Our vet and all the staff fell in love with him immediately.
What a lover. Ben is desperately seeking affection and constantly
gives you
his paw. He is a sweet, young boy who seems to get along with
other dogs and
loves everyone, even kids! Ben doesn't look like your typical
saint but he
sure has the loyal saint temperment. You won't find a more loving
dog.
Are you Ben's FOREVER home?

6/02: Email from Ben's new family
|
We adopted Ben in April and he is doing swimmingly. He has gained
about 15
lb. from his rather emaciated state when he joined us. He is a
doll around
our two daughters, and fits in well with our two "senior"
dogs.

9/02: Email from Ben's family |
Another milestone for Benny.
We took him on vacation to Seattle with us. We were afraid the
crate in the back of the Windstar might be a problem, since his
last trip in one resulted in a whole bunch of family/face changes.
The thing is so huge, we had to put it in the back with the door
facing forward, between the two back seats. We left the door off,
he walked right in, curled up and relaxed, first try.
While on the road, he was a perfect gentleman. (A GREAT conversation
starter!) He was somewhat cautious meeting new people, but behaved
well. He did his "duty" whenever we stopped, never in
the car or in the hotel, and was generally delightful.
The high point of the trip was when my brother, always lukewarm
toward dogs, was sitting with Ben curled up next to him. While
scratching him behind the ears, bro said, "I don't know how
anyone could throw this dog away."
Now we're home, and he's back to pretending he's a small dog with
his roommates.
Thanks again.
