Didi & Debbie Update 3/2002

Didi
1 Year Old Female Smooth Coat

Didi is from accross the country, she is a well traveled girl. Another rescue group was full and we had her transported here. She had a nice flight and was friendly to everyone she encountered. There have been many different efforts for Didi and she has come a long way. She is excellent with kids, good with other dogs and cats. She had a Tea Party with the children of her last foster home, allowing the children to dress her up. What a great dog, really needs to be part of a family that includes her in on the activites. She is a big girl and could use some weight, and is still growing. She has been spayed, vaccinated and heartworm tested negative.

If you have already filled in an application and are interested in Didi, CALL us for an appointment.

If you have not filled in an application please do so, your name will be added to our waiting list. Check our website daily, when you see a dog that interests you, please CALL for an appointment.

Didi (now Molly) and Debbie Update 3/2002

Lacie,

Just wanted to update you on how Debbie and Molly (aka. Didi) are doing. Debbie who loves her food gained some weight, up to 124 pounds so the vet put her on a less fat diet so she wouldn't put stress on her hips. So now she is a lean 111 pounds and looks great. She loves her walks and going to the dog park where she plays mostly with the littlest dogs there. She sleeps on the couch during the day when she's not laying in the sun out in the back yard. At night she sleeps in the hall way just in front of my bedroom door. I think she does this so she can guard all the bedrooms from there. I have trained her to stop when she comes into the house so that I can wipe off any slobber before she shakes it on the walls. This works most of the time, but what's a little slobber.

Molly on the other hand was very timid and shy when I first got her. She bonded with me right away but it has taken some time for her to bond with the twins. I believe she was mistreated because she would run way from the leash and brush. But she now she is the first in line when we get the leash out to go for a walk and she also loves the dog park. She still doesn't like being brushed but at least she doesn't run and hide. She also was very picky about food but I finally found the right combination of dog food that she will eat. Plus she also likes apples and bananas. During the day she sleeps on the couch and at night she sleeps on my bed with me. I have trained her to go into the twins bedrooms in the morning and wake them up with a big kiss. She and Debbie both love to ride in the car and play with other dogs.

We all love them very much, they both bring joy and laughter into our lives. I hope to see you at the carnival

Carole Di Iullo, Erin, and Erica
